A true curbless, zero-entry shower requires serious structural prep long before the tile gets touched. To drop the shower pan flush with the bathroom floor without sacrificing load strength, we doubled up the framing on both sides with engineered LVL beams and dropped the joists to create a recessed, solid subfloor.
